Charlotte and Durham Chefs to Compete on Top Chef Season 23: Meet Brittany Cochran and Oscar Diaz
Charlotte’s upcoming season of “Top Chef” is set to premiere in March, showcasing a local chef from Charlotte and another from Durham. Brittany Cochran, the executive chef at Stagioni - Four Seasons of Food in Charlotte, will be competing for the title on Season 23 of Bravo’s popular culinary competition. The show is hosted by Kristen Kish, with Gail Simmons and Tom Colicchio serving as judges. Cochran, a Johnson & Wales University graduate, brings a wealth of experience, including working for celebrity chef Marc Forgione. She currently leads the kitchen at Stagioni, known for its seasonal Italian cuisine and wood-fired pizza.
Joining Cochran on the show is chef Oscar Diaz from Durham, who has been recognized as a two-time James Beard Award semifinalist. Diaz previously served as the executive chef and partner at Cortez in Raleigh before opening Little Bull, a Michelin-recognized restaurant. He also owns Aaktun and TaTaco.
