NBC Expands Comedy Lineup with Two New Pilots Featuring Jane Lynch and Katey Sagal

NBC has expanded its pilot lineup by ordering two new comedies. The first comedy, created by Kari Lizer, will feature Jane Lynch and Katey Sagal in leading roles. The second comedy, titled Newlyweds, is created by Gail Lerner and centers around a later-in-life marriage. The project is produced by Paramount Television Studios and marks NBC's first pilot from an external studio this season. The show is written and executive produced by Lizer, with Lynch, Sagal, and others also serving as executive producers.
