Last Chance to Watch: Speed, Midsommar, Misery, and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes Leaving HBO Max Soon!

HBO Max subscribers have a limited time to catch four popular movies before they leave the streaming platform. Speed, Midsommar, Misery, and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes are set to depart HBO Max on February 1, 2026. However, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will find a new home on Hulu's catalog starting February 2, 2026.
Speed, directed by Jan de Bont, stars Keanu Reeves as LAPD officer Jack Traven on a mission to stop a violent extortionist who has rigged a city bus to explode if its speed drops below 50 miles per hour. Sandra Bullock also stars in the film as one of the passengers who teams up with Traven to save the others.
Midsommar, written and directed by Ari Aster, follows an American couple attending a midsummer festival in rural Sweden with their friends. They soon find themselves entangled in a bizarre and violent competition orchestrated by a pagan cult.
Misery, directed by Rob Reiner, tells the story of a famous novelist, Paul Sheldon, who is rescued by an obsessive fan, Annie Wilkes, after a car crash. She nurses him back to health but holds him captive until he completes a novel to her liking.
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, directed by Wes Ball, follows a young chimpanzee named Noa on a journey with a human woman, Mae, to determine the future of both apes and humans. The film explores the complex relationship between humans and apes in a post-apocalyptic world.
Don't miss the chance to watch these four movies before they leave HBO Max, with Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes finding a new home on Hulu.
