2026 London Film Critics’ Circle Awards: Celebrating Excellence in Filmmaking

The 2026 London Film Critics’ Circle Awards saw Paul Thomas Anderson’s film "One Battle After Another" sweep the awards, winning four prizes, including film of the year. Anderson himself was honored with awards for director and screenwriter of the year. Sean Penn also received recognition as supporting actor of the year for his role in the film. Another standout was Harry Lighton's debut feature "Pillion," which won two awards for British/Irish film of the year and breakthrough British/Irish filmmaker.
The top acting awards went to Jessie Buckley for actress of the year and Timothee Chalamet for actor of the year. Amy Madigan won the supporting actress prize, while Josh O’Connor, Robert Aramayo, and Alfie Williams were recognized in various categories. Honorary awards were presented to Guillermo del Toro and Cynthia Erivo for excellence in film and innovation, respectively.
The awards ceremony took place at London’s May Fair Hotel and was voted on by the 207 members of the Film Section of the Critics’ Circle. The winners reflect the members' appreciation for compelling stories, outstanding performances, and exceptional craftsmanship in filmmaking.
