America's Cup Entry Deadline Extended: More Teams Joining the Prestigious Event in Naples

The deadline for entries for the America's Cup has been extended by two months to the end of March, providing more time for teams to join the 38th edition of the prestigious event in Naples. The initial deadline had been set for January 31. The five teams that have already signed up for the America's Cup Partnership (ACP) include Emirates Team New Zealand, the defending champions. Teams from Britain, France, Italy, and Switzerland have also entered the competition, with the hope that more teams may still join.

During a recent announcement of the event dates, New Zealand team CEO Grant Dalton mentioned the possibility of late entries from an Australian team, a potential second Italian entry from Mascalzone Latino, and Riptide Racing from the United States. Riptide Racing, led by skipper and CEO Chris Poole, had previously announced plans to acquire an existing America's Cup package to gain immediate access to assets, design data, and infrastructure. While the team has assembled crew members, sponsors, and partners, they have not yet formally entered the competition.

The extension of the entry deadline to March 31 allows more teams to consider participating in the America's Cup. With the potential for additional entries from various countries, the competition is shaping up to be an exciting event in July next year. Teams are working hard to secure their place in the race, and the anticipation is building as the deadline approaches.
