Following the Las Vegas raid, the FBI executed a search warrant at the lab in Reedley, where thousands of vials with biological substances and genetically modified mice were discovered. The vials contained pathogens such as HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, hepatitis, and potentially Ebola. Workers assisting law enforcement became ill after handling the infected mice. In 2023, both homeowners were indicted by a federal grand jury for manufacturing and distributing misbranded medical devices and making false statements to the FDA. Additional charges of fraud and conspiracy were added in 2024, related to the fraudulent sale of COVID-19 test kits, resulting in over $1.7 million in profits.
