Springsteen and the E Street Band's Epic 2024 Sea.Hear.Now Festival Performance: A Record Store Day Exclusive

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are set to release a live album from their 2024 Sea.Hear.Now festival performance exclusively for Record Store Day on April 18. The album captures their three-hour hometown show in Asbury Park, New Jersey, in front of 35,000 fans. Available as a 5LP vinyl box set and a 3CD edition, this marks the first physical release of the September 2024 performance.
During the show, Bruce Springsteen deviated from his usual setlist and performed rare songs that he wrote while playing in Asbury Park clubs in the early 1970s. The tracklist includes hits like "Blinded By the Light," "Thundercrack," "Does This Bus Stop at 82nd Street?," and "4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)." The band also played classics such as "Thunder Road," "Dancing in the Dark," and "Born to Run."
Describing the performance as one of the top shows he has ever done, Springsteen expressed his deep connection to Asbury Park, a town that was once abandoned for three decades before its recent revival. Being present for its rebirth and witnessing its comeback on a beautiful September night on the beach was a profoundly moving experience for the artist.
While Springsteen has a new solo album set for release this year, it remains uncertain if he will embark on a tour to support it. He hinted at a potential shift in his touring schedule, suggesting that future tours may involve more frequent but shorter performances rather than extensive 130-date runs like his previous tour.
In addition to Springsteen's live album, other Record Store Day releases include Neil Young & the Chrome Hearts' The Live Album, Olivia Dean's BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, and Fall Out Boy's So Much For (2our) Dust: Live at Madison Square Garden. Record Store Day 2026 is scheduled for April 18.
