The Eagles: The Long Goodbye Tour and the Future of the Iconic Band

Eagles founding member Don Henley has hinted that the iconic band may be nearing its end this year. The band is currently in the midst of a series of shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas as part of their massive 'The Long Goodbye' tour. With the residency set to conclude in March, Henley, 78, shared his thoughts on the band's future in a recent interview on CBS Sunday Morning, suggesting that 2026 could be the final year for the Eagles.

Henley expressed his desire to spend more time with his family and pursue other interests like gardening and traveling. The Vegas residency, initially planned for eight shows, has been extended multiple times due to popular demand, with the final 12 shows scheduled for the early months of this year. The last performance is set for March 28, and tickets are available for purchase.

The Eagles, formed in 1971 by Glenn Frey and Henley, have had a storied career, winning six Grammys and selling over 200 million records worldwide. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, the band's 'Greatest Hits' album from 1976 recently achieved quadruple diamond certification in the US, marking 40 million sales. A 50th-anniversary reissue of the album is set to be released on February 17 on clear, 180-gram vinyl.

As the Eagles potentially approach the end of their journey, fans can reflect on the band's remarkable legacy and look forward to the upcoming reissue of their iconic 'Greatest Hits' album.
