Journey of Faith: Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins' Uganda Adventure

Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins embarked on an unexpected journey in 2025 when they decided to move to Uganda for six weeks with their four children. The decision was inspired by a vision Thomas Rhett had during a prayer session at church, where he saw his family in Uganda. This vision prompted them to consider relocating to the African country, despite initial doubts and fears.

The couple has a special connection to Uganda, as their oldest daughter, Willa Gray, was born there and later adopted by Rhett and Akins. The vision of their family standing on a familiar road in Uganda solidified their decision to explore the possibility of moving there. Despite some apprehension and uncertainty, they were committed to following through with the plan.

The prospect of adopting another child in Uganda added a layer of complexity to their decision. Akins, who had considered adopting a little girl she met during a trip to Uganda, eventually realized that adoption might not be the right path for their family. Instead, they focused on their upcoming fifth child, choosing not to find out the gender but receiving numerous predictions that it would be a boy.

During their time in Uganda, Rhett and Akins embraced the experience of living in a different country and immersing themselves in the local culture. Despite the challenges and uncertainties they faced along the way, the couple remained open to the unexpected twists and turns of their journey. Their time in Uganda allowed them to reflect on their faith, family, and future, shaping their perspective on life and their aspirations for the future.
