Tyler Thomas Faces Federal Charges in Connection with Hailey Buzbee's Disappearance

Tyler Thomas is facing federal charges related to the disappearance of 17-year-old Hailey Buzbee. The federal charges are similar to the state charges he already faces in Ohio. Thomas, 39, was charged with pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor and tampering with evidence in state court. Court documents revealed that Thomas and Buzbee had been communicating for over a year before she went missing. They communicated through an encrypted messaging service and a gaming platform. Thomas admitted to picking up Buzbee from her home and driving her to Columbus, Ohio, where investigators believe she was killed. Videos of Buzbee of a sexual nature were found on Thomas' phone, and he tried to delete them. Buzbee was reported missing on Jan. 19 and was later presumed dead. Thomas led police to her remains in Perry County, Ohio. He has not been charged with murder yet, but it is anticipated that a murder charge will be filed. The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
