MLS Unveils Unique Jerseys: San Jose Earthquakes' Grateful Dead Tribute and St. Louis City SC's Tina Turner Homage
Major League Soccer is set to kick off on Feb. 21, and Adidas has collaborated with the League to unveil new jerseys for all 30 clubs. The jerseys feature unique designs, such as the New England Revolution's retro red-and-blue jersey and LAFC's Art Deco-inspired design. Music fans will be excited to see San Jose's tribute to the Grateful Dead and St. Louis' homage to Tina Turner.
The San Jose Earthquakes' jersey pays tribute to the iconic jam band with a swirling blue-and-purple tie-dye pattern and the Stealie logo on the hem. The back of the jersey also features the Grateful Dead's wordmark logo, celebrating the connection between music, culture, and community. On the other hand, St. Louis City SC's jersey is inspired by Tina Turner's stage outfits, featuring a draping gold design and a patch with her face and signature on the hem.
St. Louis City SC will also host a tribute to Tina Turner at Powell Hall on Feb. 15, featuring Grammy-winning rocker Brittany Howard. Turner's ties to the St. Louis club scene add a special significance to the tribute. Both teams will have home games when Major League Soccer returns, with St. Louis facing Charlotte on Feb. 21 and San Jose playing against Atlanta on Feb. 28. The games will be available for streaming on Apple TV.
