Ryan Coogler and Vince Gilligan Team Up for The X-Files Reboot: A Promising Collaboration

Ryan Coogler has provided an update on The X-Files reboot, revealing that he is currently working on the scripts for the series. Coogler shared that his mother's love for the original show inspired him to take on the project. He met Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad, who provided him with valuable advice for the reboot.
Coogler and Gilligan first met in an elevator in France during the Deauville American Film Festival in 2013. Years later, Coogler reached out to Gilligan for guidance on the reboot. Gilligan spent hours advising Coogler over Zoom, answering all his questions and providing valuable insights that Coogler often refers back to.
In a podcast interview, Coogler mentioned that he received advice on television production from Gilligan. The original X-Files series aired for nine seasons on Fox, with seasons 10 and 11 released in 2016 and 2018. The show featured a cast that included David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Robert Patrick, Annabeth Gish, William B. Davis, and Mitch Pileggi.
It is uncertain whether Duchovny and Anderson will reprise their roles in the Disney reboot of The X-Files. The series does not have a confirmed release date yet. The collaboration between Coogler and Gilligan hints at an exciting revival of the beloved sci-fi series.
