Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's Legal Battle: Inside the Settlement Conference at U.S. District Court

Blake Lively attended a settlement conference with Justin Baldoni at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. The two co-stars of It Ends With Us were present at the court-ordered meeting, with Baldoni accompanied by his wife. Lively arrived at the courthouse alone, without her husband, Ryan Reynolds. She was photographed stepping out of a black SUV and wore a pale green suit with a pink collared shirt, carrying a green handbag. In contrast, Baldoni sported an olive-green overcoat and grey trousers, complemented by a cream-colored scarf.

The settlement conference is a standard procedure in federal civil litigation to explore the possibility of resolving a case without going to trial. The session was overseen by U.S. Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave, but reports indicate that Lively and Baldoni's legal teams were unable to reach a settlement agreement during the six-hour meeting. Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, confirmed the lack of a deal and expressed readiness for the case to proceed to trial.

The legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni originated from allegations of sexual misconduct made by Lively against Baldoni during the filming of It Ends With Us. Baldoni refuted the claims and filed a countersuit, which was subsequently dismissed by the court. The case is scheduled to go to trial on May 18, 2026, following the unsuccessful settlement conference.
