Update on Nancy Guthrie's Disappearance: FBI Seeks Suspect with New Details

The FBI has provided updated information on the suspect they are seeking in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Savannah Guthrie. Based on a forensic analysis of doorbell camera footage, investigators are looking for a man around 5’9” to 5’10” tall with an average build, who was seen wearing a black Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack in the footage. The FBI is urging the public to provide any relevant tips to aid in the investigation.

In an effort to gather more information, the FBI has increased the reward to $100,000 for details leading to Nancy Guthrie’s whereabouts or the apprehension of those responsible for her disappearance. Surveillance photos and videos of a potential suspect have also been released, showing a person in a jacket, ski mask, gloves, and carrying a backpack and firearm. Nancy was last seen on January 31 in Tucson and was reported missing the next day, prompting an ongoing investigation by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

Despite reports of a ransom letter sent to media outlets, authorities have not confirmed its existence. Savannah Guthrie, along with her siblings, has made emotional pleas on social media for their mother’s safe return. Sheriff Chris Nanos remains optimistic about Nancy Guthrie’s well-being and is determined to bring her back home. The investigation continues, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
