Artists Take a Stand: Dropkick Murphys and Others Depart Wasserman Talent Agency

The Dropkick Murphys recently made the decision to part ways with the Wasserman talent agency due to the connection of the agency's founder, Casey Wasserman, to Jeffrey Epstein. Wasserman, an executive and sports agent, has not been accused of any crimes related to Epstein, but his name appeared in emails exchanged with Ghislaine Maxwell, a close associate of Epstein. This led the band to sever ties with the agency, as they expressed their disappointment in an Instagram post.

Following the Dropkick Murphys' announcement, other artists like Chappell Roan also decided to leave Wasserman. Roan emphasized the importance of aligning with moral values and stated that no one should have to defend or overlook actions that conflict with their beliefs. This wave of departures from the agency also included entertainers such as Orville Peck and Abby Wambach, who chose to distance themselves from Wasserman.

Despite the calls for Wasserman to step down from his position as chair of the LA28 Board of Directors, the committee responsible for organizing the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, he will continue to lead the board. The executive committee of LA28 conducted a review of Wasserman's past interactions with Epstein and Maxwell and decided to support his continued leadership.

In light of recent events, it is essential to maintain civility and kindness in all interactions. The decisions made by the Dropkick Murphys and other artists to part ways with the Wasserman talent agency reflect their commitment to upholding their values and principles.
