Peter Gabriel: A Musical Journey from Genesis to 'i/o

On February 13, 1950, Peter Gabriel was born in Surrey, England. He is a renowned musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and activist. Gabriel rose to fame as the original lead singer of the rock band Genesis, appearing on the band's first six albums. In 1975, he departed from the group to pursue a successful solo career, releasing his self-titled debut album the same year, which included the hit song "Solsbury Hill."

One of Gabriel's most successful albums is 1986's "So," which sold over 5 million copies in the U.S. The album featured the chart-topping single "Sledgehammer," along with other popular tracks like "Big Time," "In Your Eyes," and "Don't Give Up" featuring Kate Bush.
