On February 13, 1950, Peter Gabriel was born in Surrey, England. He is a renowned musician, singer, songwriter, record producer, and activist. Gabriel rose to fame as the original lead singer of the rock band Genesis, appearing on the band's first six albums. In 1975, he departed from the group to pursue a successful solo career, releasing his self-titled debut album the same year, which included the hit song "Solsbury Hill."

One of Gabriel's most successful albums is 1986's "So," which sold over 5 million copies in the U.S. The album featured the chart-topping single "Sledgehammer," along with other popular tracks like "Big Time," "In Your Eyes," and "Don't Give Up" featuring Kate Bush. Throughout his career, Gabriel has won eight Grammy Awards and 13 MTV Video Music Awards, with nine of the latter awarded for the "Sledgehammer" music video. He is also a two-time inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, first as a member of Genesis in 2010 and later as a solo artist in 2014.

In 2023, Gabriel made a comeback with his first new album in two decades, titled "i/o." He is set to release a follow-up album, "o/i," in 2026. As part of his recent music project, Gabriel is unveiling a new song with each full moon of the year, culminating in the release of the complete album by the end of the year.
