Orange Triumph: Syracuse Women's Basketball Defeats Clemson on Play4Kay Pink Day

The Syracuse women's basketball team secured a victory against Clemson on Play4Kay Pink Day at the JMA Wireless Dome. Sophie Burrows' impressive performance with 19 points and 16 rebounds led the Orange to their 14th win over the Tigers in program history and the fourth win under the Felisha Legette-Jack era.
The game started with Uche Izoje scoring the first basket for Syracuse, while the team's defense kept Clemson scoreless for over three minutes. Syracuse maintained the lead throughout the first quarter, ending with a 17-12 advantage.
In the second quarter, Olivia Schmitt and Jasmyn Cooper contributed points for SU, with Schmitt's three-pointer energizing the crowd. Laila Phelia's drive to the basket and Burrows' crucial plays helped Syracuse maintain a 34-28 lead at halftime.
The third quarter saw Izoje and Burrows extending Syracuse's lead, despite Clemson outscoring the Orange. Heading into the final quarter, Syracuse held a 53-48 advantage over the Tigers.
Clemson briefly took the lead in the fourth quarter, but Burrows responded with key plays to regain the advantage for Syracuse. With solid defense and free throws from Hawkins, Syracuse secured a 68-64 victory over Clemson.
