Carolina Hurricanes Goalie Brandon Bussi Signs Extension, Foundation Donates to Autism Society

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed goaltender Brandon Bussi to a three-year contract extension with an average annual value of $1.9 million. In honor of this extension, the Hurricanes Foundation will donate $10,000 to the Autism Society of North Carolina, as Bussi's brother Dylan has autism, and his goalie mask pays tribute to him.

Bussi, who was acquired from the Florida Panthers, has had a successful season with the Hurricanes, boasting a 23-3-1 record with a 2.16 goals-against average and .908 save percentage. He made his NHL debut against the San Jose Sharks and recorded his first shutout against Calgary. Bussi set a franchise record with nine consecutive wins and became the fastest goaltender in NHL history to reach 10, 15, and 20 wins in a season.

With a strong AHL career and collegiate experience at Western Michigan, Bussi has proven himself as a reliable presence in the crease for the Hurricanes. The Autism Society of North Carolina, a partner of the Hurricanes Foundation, is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with autism and their families, providing essential services and support to the community.
