Exploring Obsession and Isolation: La Carn - A Psychological Thriller by Joan Porcel
TLA Releasing has acquired the rights to Joan Porcel's LGBTQ+ feature film, La Carn, for the UK, Ireland, and North America. Begin Again has also secured the rights for France and French-speaking Europe. La Carn was showcased as a work-in-progress at the 2025 Locarno Film Festival and premiered at Tallinn Black Nights. The film will be screened at the upcoming Málaga Film Festival and Barcelona's D'A Film Festival. La Carn is a psychological thriller that follows artist Lluís Garau as he delves into the world of Chatroulette and encounters a mysterious man who reveals chilling details about a nearby murder. The film explores themes of obsession, isolation, and the blurred line between digital fantasy and reality. Produced by Mansalva Films, La Carn has the support of Spanish SVOD platform Filmin and Balearic public broadcaster IB3. Joan Porcel, known for directing Samantha Hudson: A Story Of Faith, Sex And Electro-Queer, brings a unique perspective to this boundary-pushing film.
