Country music star Thomas Rhett recently shared on a podcast that he is experiencing hearing loss in one ear and has had to start using hearing aids to help him hear better. He mentioned this during an episode of Annie F. Downs' That Sounds Fun podcast, where he discussed his recent health issue. Rhett revealed that he is losing hearing in his left ear and has started wearing hearing aids to address the problem. It appears that he is wearing hearing aids in both ears to balance out the sound levels. After wearing the hearing aids for a week, Rhett expressed surprise at how loud things were and how it affected his ability to think clearly. His wife, Lauren Akins, shared that he was struggling with the new experience but acknowledged that it was a common occurrence for her. The couple also mentioned that they are expecting their fourth child in March and plan to wait until the birth to find out the baby's gender. Rhett admitted that the idea of not knowing the gender in advance is both exciting and nerve-wracking for him. He hinted that this baby might be their last, as they had always envisioned having five children, and anything beyond that would require a larger vehicle.
