Triangulation: Steve Morse's Musical Journey with Friends

Steve Morse, former Deep Purple guitarist, took a break from the band to care for his late wife and teamed up with bassist Dave LaRue and drummer Van Romaine to create his new album, Triangulation. The trio collaboration was a natural choice for Morse, who has a long history of playing with them and values their musical and personal connection.

Despite his initial hesitation, Morse reached out to his friends John Petrucci and Eric Johnson to collaborate on the album. He was reluctant to ask for favors, knowing that they are often approached for such requests. However, Morse realized the significance of the album and the opportunity to work with his friends, who contributed their exceptional talents out of love and mutual respect.

In a bold move in 1983, Morse confronted Clive Davis, the head of Arista Records, when the Dregs faced label issues. Despite the risks involved, Morse stood up for the band's rights and negotiated a release from their contract. This experience taught Morse the importance of asserting oneself in the music industry and ultimately led him to prioritize his artistic freedom over commercial success.

Triangulation, Morse's latest album, is now available for purchase. The album features collaborations with renowned guitarists John Petrucci and Eric Johnson, showcasing Morse's musical prowess and the support of his talented friends.
