Baywatch Reboot: David Chokachi Returns as Cody Madison in Fox's Revival

A familiar face from the original Baywatch series is making a comeback for the reboot. David Chokachi will be reprising his role as Cody Madison in Fox's Baywatch revival. Cody, known for running The Shoreline, the Baywatch bar-and-grill, will still don the iconic red trunks to save lives and serve as a mentor and friend to his fellow lifeguards, offering them a second home and free wings after heroic rescues.
Chokachi joins Stephen Amell as the only confirmed cast members for the upcoming Baywatch series. Amell will play Hobie Buchannon, the son of Mitch Buchannon, the series lead originally portrayed by David Hasselhoff. The show's logline teases a new dynamic as Hobie, now a Baywatch Captain, is surprised by the arrival of Charlie, his long-lost daughter, who wants to follow in her father's footsteps and become a lifeguard.
Having appeared on Baywatch from 1995 to 1999, Chokachi brings his experience to the reboot. The new series, set to have 12 episodes, is scheduled to premiere in the 2026-27 season on Fox Entertainment and Fremantle. Production will take place in Los Angeles at Venice Beach and the FOX Studio Lot in Century City, with Matt Nix as showrunner and executive producer, and McG directing the series premiere.
The Baywatch reboot promises to bring back the nostalgia of the original series while introducing new storylines and characters. With a talented cast and production team behind the scenes, fans can look forward to a fresh take on the iconic lifeguard drama.
