Indonesian Ministry of Tourism Collaborates with BTS for World Tour Promotion

The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism is looking to collaborate with the global K-pop sensation BTS to showcase the country's attractions during the group's upcoming world tour in December 2026. Acting Deputy for Event Organizer Development at the Ministry, Vinsensius Jemadu, expressed interest in working with BTS to promote Indonesia's culture and tourism. The ministry plans to organize promotional activities during BTS's visit, including Familiarization Trips to various destinations and offering the group a taste of traditional Indonesian cuisine.
If time constraints limit these activities, the ministry aims to highlight Jakarta's cultural highlights during BTS's visit. Vinsensius emphasized the opportunity to introduce Indonesia's lesser-known destinations to international fans through BTS's visit. The ministry also recognizes the role of Indonesian fans, particularly from Gen Z and Gen Y, in amplifying the country's appeal through social media and hopes BTS will acknowledge the fans' impact on promoting Indonesia globally.
BTS, under the management of BigHit Music, is set to embark on a world tour in 2026–2027, with a stop in Indonesia scheduled for December 26–27. iMe Indonesia is confirmed as the local promoter for the event, although ticketing details and fan engagement mechanisms have not yet been released. The group's upcoming studio album, ARIRANG, marks a new chapter for BTS as a complete seven-member group, with all members contributing to the album's concept and musical direction.
To celebrate the album's release, BTS will hold a comeback showcase, BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang, on March 21 in Seoul, with both in-person attendance and global broadcast via Netflix. A documentary, BTS: The Return, directed by Bao Nguyen, will follow the group's journey as they reunite in Los Angeles after completing their military service and detail the creative process behind ARIRANG. The documentary is set to premiere on March 27, 2026, on Netflix. BTS's world tour, announced on January 13, 2026, will feature 82 performances across 34 cities and regions, starting in South Korea on April 9 and continuing to Japan, the United States, and Latin America, with more stops to be announced.
