New Ransom Note Received in Nancy Guthrie Disappearance Case: Cryptocurrency Demand and FBI Involvement

A recent report from TMZ reveals that a new ransom note has been received in connection with the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. This ransom note is described as a highly sophisticated demand involving a cryptocurrency other than Bitcoin. The email demands a similar dollar amount to the previous $6 million ransom demand and includes graphic descriptions of the consequences if the ransom is not paid. The new ransom demand email contains a different crypto account number from the original and has been forwarded to the FBI.
Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old woman and the mother of "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie, went missing on Feb. 1, with investigators suspecting she was taken against her will. The Pima County Sheriff's Department provided an update on Feb. 17, stating that DNA submitted to CODIS from gloves found 2 miles away did not match DNA found at the property or trigger a match in the national CODIS database. Further analysis and testing of DNA found at the property are ongoing as part of the investigation.
Additionally, on Feb. 17, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos cleared members of Nancy's family as suspects in her disappearance. The investigation into Nancy Guthrie's disappearance continues, with law enforcement agencies working to gather more information and locate her.
