U2 Days Of Ash: A New EP Reflecting Defiance, Dismay, and Celebration

U2 has announced the release of a new standalone 6-track EP titled "U2 Days Of Ash" on Ash Wednesday. The EP features five new songs and a poem, each inspired by current events and individuals fighting for freedom. The tracks on the EP, such as "American Obituary," "The Tears Of Things," and "Song Of The Future," reflect themes of defiance, dismay, and celebration. The band members express their excitement about the new songs and their relevance in today's world.

The EP addresses significant events like the tragic death of Renée Nicole Macklin Good in Minneapolis, the protests in Iran, and the killing of Awdah Hathaleen in the West Bank. The song "Yours Eternally" features Ukrainian musician Taras Topolia and Ed Sheeran, inspired by the bold spirit of a soldier on active duty. A documentary film accompanying the song captures the daily lives of soldiers fighting on the frontlines of the war in Ukraine.

To complement the release of the EP, U2 is bringing back Propaganda as a one-off digital zine with a limited-edition print run. The zine, titled "U2 – Days Of Ash: Six Postcards From The Present… Wish We Weren't Here," includes exclusive interviews, song lyrics, notes from the band members, and more. Fans can access the zine and additional information on U2's official website.
