Hard to Handle: A Tribute to the Grateful Dead's Legacy of Free Shows in San Francisco

Join us for a special free concert at Golden Gate Park Panhandle on Sunday, March 8, as we pay tribute to the Grateful Dead's legacy of no-cost shows in San Francisco. Hard to Handle, Live Music in the Panhandle, will rock Ashbury and Oak Streets from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with live music emanating from a flatbed truck, reminiscent of the band's historic free performances in Golden Gate Park and Haight-Ashbury in 1968.

Danny Luehring, known for his drumming with the Dead since 2013, will headline the event with a talented lineup of musicians from Terrapin Crossroads, including Grahame Lesh, Garrett Deloian, Brian Rashap, and Danny Eisenberg. The China Cats will also be performing, promising an unforgettable musical experience for all attendees.

The Grateful Dead's tradition of free shows in San Francisco during the late 1960s inspired a devoted following and reflected the spirit of the era's counterculture movement. The upcoming March 8 concert aims to revive this tradition, offering fans the opportunity to enjoy iconic music that has left a lasting impact on generations.

Don't miss this unique event that celebrates the spirit of free love and music in San Francisco. Join us for an afternoon of live music and community at the Panhandle, honoring the legacy of the Grateful Dead and their tradition of no-cost performances.
