Alex Van Halen and Steve Lukather Collaborate to Complete Unfinished Album: Honoring Eddie's Legacy

Alex Van Halen is currently working on completing an album that was left unfinished after the passing of his brother, Eddie Van Halen, in 2020. He has enlisted the help of Toto guitarist Steve Lukather to finalize the recordings, which include contributions from three band members - drums, guitar, and bass.

In an interview with KazaGastão, Alex Van Halen mentioned that they are not planning to release the unfinished tracks in their current state as they want to ensure the quality matches the level they had intended for the next record. These recordings were originally intended to be part of their upcoming album before Eddie's untimely death.

Steve Lukather has been collaborating with Alex Van Halen on the arrangements and filling in any gaps in the music. Alex mentioned that after playing a piece of music for Steve, he immediately understood what was needed, simplifying the process of completing the tracks.

The band is currently in search of a new singer to join them. While Paul Rodgers declined the offer due to health issues, Robert Plant was considered as a potential candidate. However, Plant's touring schedule made it challenging to secure his involvement. Alex Van Halen expressed the importance of finding a singer from their generation to ensure a shared musical experience and depth in the music.

Eddie Van Halen passed away at the age of 65 in 2020, leaving a void in the band's lineup. Despite the loss, Alex Van Halen is determined to honor his brother's legacy by completing the album and finding a suitable singer to carry on the Van Halen musical tradition.
