Allegations of Sexual Abuse at St. Helens Cheer Camp: Coach Convicted and Additional Victims Sought

A coach at a cheer camp in St. Helens has been convicted of sex abuse, attempted sex abuse, and providing alcohol to a minor. Anthony Lee Trenkler, 28, was found guilty of these charges but acquitted on others. He is currently in custody at the Columbia County Jail awaiting his sentencing next month. The allegations against Trenkler surfaced in August 2024 when a girl disclosed her experience to her mother after returning from the cheer camp in St. Helens.
Authorities suspect that there may be additional victims of Trenkler's misconduct. If anyone has information related to this case, they are encouraged to contact the St. Helen's Police Department.
