Mammoth's 'The End': A New Era in Rock Music

Wolfgang Van Halen, under the artist name Mammoth, recently released his third album titled "The End" on October 24. The album was born out of a turbulent time during the Los Angeles wildfires, which influenced the anxiety-driven lyrics. The title "The End" signifies a new era for Mammoth as Van Halen was able to drop the "WVH" from the name after obtaining the copyright. His favorite track on the album is the title track, which he finds exciting to play on guitar and gives an energetic boost to their live shows.
The album artwork, featuring a man engulfed in flames, was created by artist Moon Patrol and caught Van Halen's eye for its bold statement. In response to a recent water main break in Buffalo, musician Jen Karlis and her band Not Normal are organizing a charity show to support artists affected by the flood. The show will benefit Music is Art and the Black Rock-Riverside alliance and will feature performances by 10 bands and a basket raffle.
Van Halen, who plays all the instruments on his recordings, discussed the differences between studio work and performing live with his band. He expressed confidence in his bandmates' abilities and their readiness for the upcoming tour. Influenced by bands like blink-182 and Jimmy Eat World, Mammoth's music spans a wide spectrum of rock genres. Van Halen also shared his experience playing guitar on Ryan Gosling's "I'm Just Ken" alongside Slash for the "Barbie" soundtrack.
The upcoming Mammoth tour will kick off at Buffalo's Town Ballroom with opening acts James and the Cold Gun and 10 Years. Van Halen expressed excitement about the tour and the release of the new album, emphasizing the importance of hitting the road to share their music with fans. Tickets for the show can be purchased online, and the full interview with Van Halen is available for streaming on various platforms.
