Olympic Champion Mikaela Shiffrin Apologizes for On-Air Slip on the Today Show

Shiffrin, who clinched the gold medal in women’s slalom at the Milano Cortina 2026, engaged in a conversation with the Today Show. Reflecting on her personal journey following the loss of her father and her recent Olympic triumph, the star alpine skier shared her thoughts.
During the interview, Shiffrin inadvertently uttered the F-bomb, prompting her to cover her mouth and exclaim, “S–t!” The hosts chuckled at the slip, with the Olympian quickly expressing her regret, “Oh my God, I’m so sorry.”
Despite the slip, hosts Carson Daly, Hoda Kotb, and Craig Melvin reassured Shiffrin, urging her not to feel apologetic. Kotb empathetically stated, “We got you!” and playfully remarked, “She’s just like us!”
