Transfer News: Ohio State's Quincy Portal and Mylan Graham Head to Notre Dame for 2026 Season

The Ohio State University Buckeyes, fresh off a victory in the 2025 College Football Playoff National Championship Game, aimed to continue their success in the upcoming season. Despite a perfect 12-0 regular season record, they were defeated by Indiana University in the Big Ten Championship Game and later by the University of Miami Hurricanes in the Cotton Bowl Classic. Following the Cotton Bowl loss, wide receiver Quincy Portal transferred to the University of Notre Dame, and Mylan Graham, another wide receiver, also made the move to South Bend for the 2026 season.
Graham, originally from New Haven, Ind., was a highly touted high school prospect and the top football prospect in Indiana. After redshirting in 2024, he had limited playing time this past season with just six receptions for 93 yards and no touchdowns. His decision to transfer to Notre Dame, a team the Buckeyes defeated in the previous national championship, may have been influenced by the opportunity for a larger offensive role under head coach Marcus Freeman.
Notre Dame, ranked third in a late January NCAA.com ranking for the upcoming season, had a 10-2 record in 2025 and narrowly missed the College Football Playoff. The program last won the NCAA championship in 1988, defeating the Hurricanes in the memorable "Catholics vs. Convicts" game.
