Clinton Testimony in Epstein Investigation: House Oversight Committee Depositions Scheduled

Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are scheduled to provide testimony to the House Oversight Committee next week as part of the committee's investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. The depositions will take place in Chappaqua, New York, on February 26 and 27. The Clintons have not faced any accusations of wrongdoing in relation to this investigation.

While most depositions related to the Epstein probe have occurred in Washington, D.C., exceptions have been made. Billionaire Les Wexner's deposition was conducted at his estate in New Albany, Ohio, and Ghislaine Maxwell, an Epstein co-conspirator, appeared virtually from a federal prison camp in Texas for her deposition.

The Clintons were initially scheduled to testify before the committee last year but had to postpone due to scheduling conflicts. Following a standoff with House Republicans, the Clintons agreed to provide testimony after the committee subpoenaed them in August. The committee also requested testimony from several former top Justice Department officials and FBI Directors.

The Justice Department has released numerous files related to Epstein following the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The first batch of files included pictures of Bill Clinton, who clarified that he had flown on Epstein's plane for Clinton Foundation trips in the early 2000s before Epstein faced any sex crime charges. Both Bill and Hillary Clinton have denied any wrongdoing in connection to Epstein.

The scheduled depositions of the Clintons mark a significant development in the committee's investigation into Epstein. It will be crucial to see how their testimonies contribute to shedding light on the matter and addressing any potential concerns.
