Box Office Showdown: GOAT vs. Wuthering Heights

The North American box office saw a showdown between the family-friendly film GOAT and the R-rated Wuthering Heights this weekend. GOAT, produced by Sony Pictures Animation, raked in $17 million, while Warner Bros.' Wuthering Heights earned $14.2 million in their second weekend. The weekend was relatively quiet at the box office, with new releases failing to surpass $10 million, including I Can Only Imagine 2, How to Make a Killing, and Psycho Killer. However, Baz Luhrmann's EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert stood out, earning $3.3 million in a limited IMAX release from 325 locations, with plans for nationwide distribution on Feb. 27.
GOAT experienced a modest 38% drop in its second weekend, accumulating a total of $58.3 million domestically and $102.3 million globally. On the other hand, Wuthering Heights saw a 57% decline from its opening weekend, reaching $60 million domestically and $151.7 million worldwide against an $80 million production budget. The UK remains the top international market for Wuthering Heights, contributing $22.5 million to its global earnings.
