BTS V's Involvement in Legal Dispute: Clarifying Private Messages in Court

BTS member V found himself unexpectedly involved in the legal dispute between Min Hee-jin and HYBE when private messages between them were presented in court during the stock settlement lawsuit. V, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, clarified on his Instagram Story that the messages were part of a personal conversation where he showed empathy as an acquaintance, not taking any sides in the dispute. He expressed shock and discomfort that his private communication was used as legal evidence without his consent.
The messages exchanged between V and Min Hee-jin were discussed in court as part of the evaluation of the case. V acknowledged in the chat that there were discussions about similarities between certain songs, but the court viewed these comments as personal observations rather than formal testimony or allegations. HYBE released a statement through Korean media outlets, emphasizing that the exchange was private and meant as an empathetic response to an acquaintance. The agency also highlighted that V was displeased with his private words being brought into the courtroom without his permission.
Min Hee-jin continues to be embroiled in a compensation dispute with HYBE over her company shares. In a recent ruling, a Seoul court directed HYBE to pay her approximately 25.5 billion won (around $17.5 million) in connection with the ongoing case.
