Keelan Harvick Signs Long-Term Deal with Toyota Racing Development: A Rising Star in NASCAR
Keelan Harvick, the 13-year-old son of NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick, has signed a long-term deal with Toyota Racing Development to pursue a career in NASCAR. Keelan, who had initially considered a racing career in Europe, decided to focus on the top motorsports series in the United States after an incident at a karting event in Italy. Toyota has laid out a detailed schedule for Keelan, partnering him with RACKLEY W.A.R. and Kevin Harvick, Inc., to compete in late model races across the country. He will drive the No. 62 Toyota Camry with ExxonMobil as his primary sponsor for many races.
This move to Toyota marks a significant change for the Harvick family, as Kevin Harvick had spent his entire career driving for Chevrolet and Ford. Kevin retired in 2023 with 63 Cup Series wins and the 2014 championship, transitioning to a role as an analyst for Fox Sports in 2024. The decision to join Toyota was influenced by the alignment of Toyota's development process with the Harvick family's values and goals. The Toyota Driver Development program has a track record of promoting talented drivers like Christopher Bell, Corey Heim, and John Hunter Nemechek.
Keelan Harvick has already achieved success in various racing series, including becoming the youngest-ever winner of the Snowflake 125 at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. He also secured a victory in Florence Motor Speedway's Icebreaker event in February. Keelan's racing journey has seen him transition from Legends to Late Models, winning multiple events in different series. His ultimate goal is to reach the Cup Series and follow in his father's footsteps, with Toyota supporting his development every step of the way.
Toyota Racing Development is excited to welcome Keelan into the Toyota Racing family, recognizing his talent and professionalism both on and off the track. With a bright future ahead, Keelan's success in racing has already made him a promising young driver. As he continues to hone his skills and progress through the ranks, Toyota is proud to be part of his racing journey.
