Exploring the Exciting New Chapter: The 2027 Sundance Film Festival in Boulder, Colorado

The 2026 Sundance Film Festival bid farewell to an era and now looks forward to a new chapter. The 2027 edition of the festival will mark its debut in Boulder, Colorado. Scheduled to take place from January 21 to 31, 2027, the festival will showcase films at various venues in the college town. These venues include the Boulder Theater, Boulder High School Auditorium, Casey Middle School Auditorium, Chautauqua Auditorium, Cinemark Century Boulder, eTown Hall, Boedecker Theater, Gordon Gamm Theater at the Dairy Arts Center, Macky Auditorium Concert Hall, Muenzinger Auditorium, and Roe Green Theater at the University of Colorado Boulder.
In addition to film screenings, the 2027 Sundance Film Festival will host talks and other non-screening events at venues such as the Boulder Public Library District’s Canyon Theater, the Dairy Arts Center, eTown Hall, and Old Main at UC Boulder. Boulder was chosen as the new home of the Sundance Film Festival in March 2025, surpassing Salt Lake City and Cincinnati.
