Harry and Meghan's Humanitarian Mission in Jordan: Supporting Global Health and Mental Health Initiatives

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are embarking on a humanitarian visit to Jordan with a focus on global health and mental health support. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be in Jordan on February 25th and 26th for engagements with the World Health Organization (WHO) to support vulnerable communities affected by conflict and displacement. The visit, in partnership with the WHO, aims to address humanitarian health response and mental health services in Amman, Jordan, expanding on their previous collaboration with the organization.

This trip to Jordan marks Harry and Meghan's first international visit in nearly 18 months, following their previous visits to Nigeria and Colombia in 2024. Their work continues to prioritize vulnerable populations, mental health, and the impact of conflict on civilians, particularly children. Through their philanthropic organization, Archewell Philanthropies, the couple has supported relief efforts for families affected by conflicts in Israel and Gaza, demonstrating their commitment to humanitarian causes.

During their visit to Jordan, Harry and Meghan will support WHO initiatives in regional humanitarian health response and visit projects they have financially supported to aid children affected by the conflict in Gaza. They will also visit World Central Kitchen's regional headquarters, founded by chef José Andrés, to witness the coordination of food and humanitarian aid into Gaza. Additionally, the couple will visit Za'atari Refugee Camp to highlight mental health services and community-based support for displaced Syrians affected by war and serious illness.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's visit to Jordan coincides with the recent arrest of Prince Harry's uncle, ex-Prince Andrew, on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The couple's focus on humanitarian efforts underscores their dedication to supporting vulnerable populations and promoting mental health awareness globally. Their partnership with the WHO and other organizations reflects their commitment to making a positive impact on communities in need.
