UFL 2026 Season: New Rules to Boost Offense and Excitement

The United Football League is implementing new rules for the upcoming 2026 season to enhance offensive play. One of the key changes is awarding four points for field goals of at least 60 yards. Additionally, the league has restricted punts inside the opponent's 50-yard line to promote aggressive play and scoring opportunities. In addition to the field goal rule, the UFL has made other adjustments to gameplay. They have banned the tush push short-yardage play and modified the points after touchdown options based on coach feedback. The two-point conversion will now be from the 2-yard line, similar to the NFL, and teams can choose to kick for one point from the 33-yard line or go for a three-point conversion from the 8-yard line. Furthermore, changes to kickoff positioning aim to create more space for returners and improve field position for scoring opportunities.
