Tragic Shooting Incident: 18-Year-Old Arrested for Negligent Homicide in Hammond

An 18-year-old man has been arrested by Hammond police after a tragic incident where his gun accidentally discharged, resulting in the death of a 14-year-old girl. Demontez Treyvon “Trey” Robinson was taken into custody for negligent homicide following a traffic stop for speeding. The police apprehended Robinson shortly after discovering the young victim with a gunshot wound. The 14-year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. During questioning, Robinson admitted to playing with the gun when it discharged, causing the fatal injury to the girl. The incident is currently under investigation by the authorities.
