2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Nominees Announced: Who Will Make the Cut?

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled the nominees for this year's induction ceremony, with 17 acts vying for a spot. Among the newcomers are Jeff Buckley, Phil Collins, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, INXS, New Edition, Pink, Shakira, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan. Collins, already a Rock Hall member with Genesis, is the sole nominee with a previous induction. Returning contenders include Billy Idol, Black Crowes, Mariah Carey, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, and Sade. The nominees' albums must have been released in 2001 or earlier to be eligible for induction.
The voting process for the 2026 inductees will occur over the next two months, with input from over 1,200 music industry professionals and a fan vote. The Class of 2026 will be announced in April, with the induction ceremony scheduled for the fall. The ceremony will also reveal recipients of the Musical Excellence, Musical Influence, and Ahmet Ertegun awards. Last year's inductees included Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Soundgarden, and The White Stripes, along with award recipients Salt-N-Pepa, Warren Zevon, Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins, Carole Kaye, and Lenny Waronker.
