Federal Judge Dismisses Lawsuit Against X and Elon Musk Over OnlyFans Content Sharing

A federal judge in Texas has thrown out a lawsuit filed by an OnlyFans creator against X (formerly Twitter) and Elon Musk for allegedly sharing explicit images without consent. The case revolved around a content creator known as John Doe who produces adult content on OnlyFans and other platforms. The plaintiff claimed that X allowed a third party to repost his paid content without permission, violating a federal law known as the “revenge porn statute.” However, Chief Judge Reed O’Connor ruled that the law does not apply to commercial pornographic content created for public distribution. The court also cited Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which protects platforms from liability for user-generated content, in dismissing the case with prejudice.
