Matt Doyle's 'New Beginning' Concert at 54 Below: A Tribute to Influential Singer-Songwriters

Matt Doyle, a Tony winner known for his role in The Great Gatsby in South Korea, recently performed two concerts at 54 Below titled New Beginning. The shows paid tribute to singer-songwriters who have influenced Doyle, featuring songs by Joni Mitchell, Tracy Chapman, Bob Dylan, Carole King, Sting, Rufus Wainwright, Chris Stapleton, Sara Bareilles, and more. Accompanied by music director Evan Zavada, Doyle showcased his talent with performances of Mitchell's "A Case of You," King's "Beautiful," and Bareilles' "Gravity." Doyle's impressive resume includes a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his role in Company, as well as accolades from the Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama League. His Broadway credits also include Spring Awakening, Bye Bye Birdie, War Horse, and The Book of Mormon, with notable Off-Broadway appearances in Little Shop of Horrors and Conversations With Mother.
