Peter Thomas, Cynthia Bailey's Ex-Husband, Released from Federal Prison: Updates on His Community Confinement in Miami

Peter Thomas, Cynthia Bailey's ex-husband and former "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star, has been released from federal prison. He is now under community confinement supervision in Miami. It is unclear whether he is living in a halfway house or under home confinement. Thomas recently shared a video on Instagram dancing to T.I.'s song "Let 'Em Know" from his new location.

Thomas pleaded guilty to failing to pay trust fund taxes in December 2024. He owed the IRS $650,000 in trust fund taxes related to a restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison and reported to FCI Miami in August 2025. Now, after just over six months, he has been released from federal prison.

Peter Thomas is scheduled to be released from RRM Miami in August 2026 and will begin two years of supervised release. He has been ordered not to drink excessively or use narcotics upon his release. Additionally, Thomas has been ordered to pay $2.5 million in restitution to the IRS.
