Vancouver Social Media Influencer Faces Human Trafficking Charges: Tevin Douglas Investigation Update

A social media influencer based in Vancouver, Tevin Douglas, is facing six charges in connection with a human trafficking investigation. The Vancouver police have announced the charges against the 31-year-old Douglas, including trafficking in persons, procuring a person for sexual services, benefiting from trafficking and sexual services, advertising sexual services, and sexual assault. The charges were approved on February 20, and Douglas was arrested at his Vancouver residence, with the home subsequently being searched. He was released on various conditions by the courts on February 24.

The investigation into Douglas began in May 2025 after suspicions of his involvement in human trafficking arose. It is alleged that the victim was trafficked in various locations, including the Lower Mainland and the Greater Toronto Area, between July 1 and December 1, 2023. Insp. Lyndsay O’Ruairc from the B.C. Counter Human Trafficking Unit emphasized that human trafficking often involves multiple victims and can span across provinces. Investigators believe there may be individuals with additional information who have not yet come forward.

O’Ruairc encouraged anyone with information to contact their local police jurisdiction, as each province has dedicated human trafficking investigators who can provide support to victims, even if they are not ready to pursue a criminal investigation. Safety is always the top priority in cases of human trafficking.

In conclusion, the charges against Tevin Douglas highlight the serious nature of human trafficking and the importance of reporting any information related to such crimes. The investigation into Douglas's alleged involvement serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and support victims of these heinous crimes.
