Scream 7 Dominates Box Office Expectations, Surpasses $97.2 Million Global Debut

Paramount and Spyglass’ latest installment in the “Scream” franchise, “Scream 7,” defied negative reviews and a B- CinemaScore to dominate the box office, surpassing all expectations. Led by Neve Campbell, the film raked in an impressive $64.1 million in the domestic market and an additional $33.1 million internationally, resulting in a global debut of $97.2 million. The movie also earned $7.1 million from IMAX screenings, exceeding initial projections.
The film’s success far exceeded the anticipated $44 million domestic and $60 million global earnings. Notably, “Scream 7” achieved the best horror opening for Paramount in the domestic market and the best February horror movie opening. With a production budget of $45 million, the film has already more than doubled its costs, promising significant profitability during its theatrical run.
In the domestic box office rankings, “Goat” secured the second spot with $12 million, followed by “Wuthering Heights” in third place with $7 million. Concert films “Twenty One Pilots: More Than We Ever Imagined – Live in Mexico City” and “EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert” rounded out the top five, with earnings of $3.7 million and $3.5 million, respectively. The Chinese film “Pegasus 3” had a strong showing globally, amassing $50.3 million over the weekend and reaching a total of $554.2 million.
“Wuthering Heights” and “Goat” also performed well on the international stage, with global earnings of $192 million and $130.5 million, respectively. The success of “Scream 7” and other top-performing films underscores the resilience of the box office in attracting audiences worldwide.
