30th Anniversary Gala: Blake Shelton Headlines Event to Benefit Houston Children's Charity

Houston Children’s Charity is gearing up for its 30th anniversary gala with a special performance by country music superstar Blake Shelton. The event, set for October 17, will feature a 75-minute performance by Shelton, who will entertain the audience with his chart-topping hits. Thanks to the support of longtime donor Gary Petersen, the nonprofit was able to secure Shelton for the gala, promising an unforgettable evening for attendees.

President and CEO Laura Ward expressed her excitement for the upcoming event, highlighting Shelton's energetic performance that is sure to delight fans. With the goal of surpassing last year's impressive fundraising total of $9.4 million, Houston Children’s Charity aims to raise even more funds to support children in need. Petersen, a dedicated supporter of the charity, has played a crucial role in providing essential resources for families with disabled children, including the purchase of 98 vans last year.

In addition to Shelton's performance, the gala will also honor Petersen for his unwavering commitment to philanthropy and his significant contributions to Houston Children’s Charity. As a co-founder of EnCap Investments and a minority owner of the Houston Texans and Houston Astros, Petersen's leadership and generosity have been instrumental in advancing the nonprofit's mission over the years. Under Ward's guidance, Houston Children’s Charity has made a lasting impact on the lives of 8 million children by providing essential resources and support to those in need.

As the organization celebrates its 30th anniversary, Houston Children’s Charity remains dedicated to its mission of serving children in the community. With the support of donors like Petersen and the upcoming gala featuring Blake Shelton, the nonprofit is poised to continue making a difference in the lives of children across Houston. Join us on October 17 for a night of music, celebration, and giving back to support our kids.
