Brian 'Robbo' Robertson: The Polarizing Stint with Motorhead

Brian 'Robbo' Robertson, known for his time in Thin Lizzy, had a brief and polarizing stint with Motorhead. Joining the band in 1982 to replace 'Fast' Eddie Clarke, Robertson found it challenging to connect with the material. Despite his limited familiarity with Motorhead's songs, he soldiered on during performances, feeling like he played the same song all night. While he enjoyed his time with the band and didn't clash with Lemmy, Robertson was asked to leave in 1983 due to declining ticket sales during a European tour. The decision was amicable, as Robertson was already looking towards other opportunities. Compared to his experience in Thin Lizzy, being in Motorhead was a stark contrast, with less emphasis on rehearsing and more focus on non-stop partying. The full interview with Robertson can be found in the upcoming issue of Classic Rock magazine, available on March 3.
