Heroes Among Us: Three U.S. Army Soldiers to Receive the Medal of Honor
Three U.S. Army soldiers are set to receive the Medal of Honor from President Donald Trump at the White House. Retired Command Sgt. Maj. Terry P. Richardson will be honored for his actions during the Vietnam War, credited with saving the lives of 85 service members. Staff Sgt. Michael H. Ollis, who died in Afghanistan in 2013, is being recognized for his valor in combat. Master Sgt. Roderick W. Edmonds, who passed away in 1985, is being honored for his leadership and resistance as a prisoner of war in Germany during World War II. The Medal of Honor is awarded by U.S. presidents to acknowledge extraordinary combat service that exceeds the call of duty and involves risking one's own life.
