Paul Giamatti to Star in Horror Film 'Boutique': A Thrilling Tale of Murderous Secrets in an Eerie Seaside Town

Paul Giamatti, a two-time Oscar nominee known for his love of genre films, is set to star in a horror movie titled Boutique. In the film, Giamatti will portray an American tourist named Calvin who visits an eerie English seaside town that inspired his favorite reclusive author's work. However, Calvin becomes entangled with a murderous secret society that pervades the entire town. The project, written and directed by Jim Gavin, is scheduled to start filming this summer. Giamatti will produce the film through his company Touchy Feely Films, alongside Dan Carey, James Harris, Mark Lane, and Guy Danella from Tea Shop Productions and XYZ Films, who will also finance the project. This marks Gavin's feature film directorial debut, and XYZ Films will handle worldwide sales with UTA co-repping domestic rights. Executive producer Jacob Jaffke will also be involved in the production.
Giamatti expressed his excitement about the project, praising Gavin's script as one of the best he has ever read. The actor, known for his roles in Sideways, Billions, and Black Mirror, was previously nominated for an Oscar for his work in The Holdovers. He has several upcoming projects, including Tom McCarthy's untitled drama and Jesse Eisenberg's untitled musical. Giamatti is also attached to star in an Eli Roth Hostel series. XYZ Films and Tea Shop Productions recently completed filming on the horror movie Banquet, directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia and featuring Meghann Fahy, Corey Mylchreest, and Alfie Williams. XYZ Films' Guy Danella expressed excitement about working with Giamatti and bringing his talents to new genre territories through Gavin's script.
Giamatti is represented by UTA, Kipperman Management, and Sloane, Offer. The collaboration between Giamatti, Gavin, and the production team promises to deliver a thrilling and unique horror experience for audiences.
