She revealed that skating to Donna Summer's "MacArthur Park" helped her secure the gold in women's individual figure skating and boosted the song to the top of the Billboard's Dance Digital Song Sales chart. Another track that saw a surge in streams after Liu skated to it was "Stateside" by PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson.
During the show, Liu shared her top five song choices for future skating programs, including "Fire in My Heart" by Escape From New York, Billie Eilish's "Chihiro," Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake," and "Star" by Mitski. Her top pick was "Capable of Love" by PinkPantheress. Liu also mentioned that PinkPantheress reached out to her after her performance of "Stateside," expressing her kindness.
Having made a successful comeback to competitive skating after a brief hiatus, Liu made it a condition to choose her own music for her performances. With her affinity for PinkPantheress tracks, it wouldn't be surprising to see more of her music featured in Liu's future routines, possibly even at the 2030 Winter Olympics.
